Elective
Surgery Policy & Prices
- All pets must have completed
their Puppy/Kitten Vaccines or be current if an older patient.
- Veterinarian must have given
the final two vaccines in the Puppy/Kitten series.
- Pets must wait 7 days from last
vaccine(s) to have surgery.
- Vaccine Requirements:
- Canine: DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella
- Feline: FVRCP, Rabies
- A Pre-surgical exam will be
performed the day of the procedure.
- Patients over 5 years of age are required to have pre-anesthetic blood
work, but it is strongly recommended for all
patients.
- Post-operative pain medication is included in all prices.
- Antibiotics might be
prescribed in some instances at an additional cost. In the event that antibiotics are needed the
technician or doctor will discuss this with the client pre or post operation.

1. Pre-Anesthetic bloodwork is an invaluable resource for all surgeries. It allows the doctors to answer many questions regarding the physical health of your pet that cannot be determined from the physical exam. It tells the doctor if your pet has healthy organs or is immune compromised. Additionally, it will help the doctor know if special anesthetic changes need to be made based on your pet's unique health status.
2. Laser Scalpel surgery is a cutting edge technology that has been adapted from human medicine which reduces pain and shortens recovery time. Please visit our Laser Surgery page for more information.
3. We never expect/plan for our pet to get out of the house but if the worst happens and he/she gets lost, microchips are our best chance at returning your pet safely. Any anesthetic procedure carries with it some degree of inherent risk. We do our best to minimize any surgical risk with a thorough physical exam and extensive intraoperative patient monitoring. As discussed previously, Pre-Anesthetic blood work is another important component to reducing anesthetic risk.
